American army general: “Maybe we should get out of Iraq. We don’t seem to be winning the war. So many troops are being killed.”
Powerful Jewish senator: “What??!! You better think again, soldier boy. If you pull out of Iraq, it’s hard to say who might end up in power there!”
Powerful Jewish activist: “Yeah! Some influential Muslim might end up ruling Iraq. And that could endanger America’s best friend in the whole, wide world: Israel! So don’t say things like that in public, soldier boy, or we’ll make sure that you become the commander of some remote military outpost in Alaska.”
American army general: “Gee, I’m sorry I said that, Senator. How insensitive of me. I should always consider Israel’s security first, before America’s interests – especially after the H-H-Holocaust. You’re not going to call me an anti-Semite, are you? That could really hurt my career.”
Powerful Jewish senator: “Well…we’ll let the matter drop – for now. But don’t let there be a next time, got it?”
